Raw Milk

Raw milk from our jersey cows.  We have a limited supply of milk we can sell from our two jersey cows, Brew and Becca.  They are our family milk cows who help to support our family as well as our farm with their milk.  We are not a large producer of milk, but we are an extremely careful producer of milk.  This care begins with the highest quality of care for our cows, through the care of the equipment, as well as the milk itself.

Our cows are milked twice daily.  When they are not being milked they are out in the pasture grazing and consuming supplemental organic hay.  Our milk is tested in house once a week for coliform, e. coli, and aerobic bacteria.  Each cow is tested weekly for mastitis as there are some forms of subclinical mastitis that can go undetected.  These tests are performed to ensure our customers are getting the highest quality of raw milk we can provide.

Our equipment is cleaned first with a rinse in warm water, followed by hot soapy water, another warm water rinse, a cool acid rinse, another thorough rinse in cold water, followed by a sanitizer and left to air dry before the next milking.
