The Best Sourdough Discard Granola

This sourdough discard granola is a crunchy, delicious, nutritious breakfast or snack which will leave you feeling satisfied all morning long. It is a refreshing treat or a wonderful, quick breakfast to have on hand for those rushed mornings!

Ingredients
  

  • 200 grams Mixed Nuts, Chopped Whatever you prefer
  • 200 grams Rolled Oats
  • 60 grams Freshly Milled Flour
  • 40 grams Flax Seeds freshly ground or flax meal
  • 40 grams Chia Seeds
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 4 grams Baking Soda
  • 80 grams Avocado Oil
  • 240 grams Sourdough Discard
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla or to taste
  • 1/2 cup Maple Syrup
  • 1 - 2 cups craisins, raisins, or other dehydrated fruit

  • 1 Sheet Pan
  • parchment paper
  • 1 Bowl

Method
 

  1. Add all of the dry ingredients to the bowl and mix them together.
  2. In a separate bowl, mix together the wet ingredients.
  3. Add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients and mix thoroughly.

  4. Pour the granola out onto the sheet pan, spreading it fairly thin. It does not have to cover the entire pan.

  5. Bake for 20 - 30 minutes, stopping to break up the granola part way through, and flipping the pieces over so they cook easily.

  6. Once the granola is done (it should be slightly golden brown), pull it out of the oven and allow it to cool before adding any dried fruit or chocolate.

  7. Store in an airtight container or in the freezer.
  8. Eat this like you would cereal with milk and put either fresh or frozen berries on the top. Enjoy!
